Test leader ensures the app delivers on its promises
Background
Anticimex is a modern service company in pest control, food safety, moisture control, home inspection and fire protection that has been preventing and protecting since 1934. Through preventive measures, new technology and sustainable solutions, they create healthy environments for both companies and individuals around the world. In Sweden, Anticimex has approximately 1,500 employees assisting two million customers throughout Sweden.
Assignment
Take on the role of operational test leader, meaning that the CoreChange consultant is the checkpoint to ensure that a new app for technicians maintains the quality it promises. The app is created for Anticimex's field technicians who perform inspections and energy declarations. The app is built to facilitate the work of the technicians, to collect protocol observations and to collect data when they are out inspecting houses and apartments. This data and observations are then retrieved on a desktop version where the technicians can complete the report, which the customer then receives.
Solution
The operational test leader ensures that the app meets the requirements and services that the developers set out in their offer. All requirements that must be met are translated into test cases which are then carried out in parts in so-called sprints that take place over three-week periods where the work is carried out iteratively through an agile process. With each sprint, new features are introduced into the app and then it is the task of the operational test leader to test them and make sure they work. This means creating fault reports on any functions that may not work, which are sent back to the developers, who fix the issue and feedback to the test leader for a new feature test.
